กำลังจะก้าวเข้าสู่  “สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

 (Association of South East Asian Nations)   หรือ อาเซียน

ในปี พ.ศ. 2558 นี้   ดังนั้นเรามาศึกษาข้อมูลเบื้องต้นของอาเซียนและเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งเป็นภาษาราชการของอาเซียนไปพร้อมๆ กันนะค่ะ

What is ASEAN?   อาเซียนคืออะไร

อาเซียน คือ การรวมตัวกันของกลุ่มประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ภายใต้ชื่อสมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

"Association of Southeast Asian Nations-ASEAN"

   สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ หรืออาเซียน ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2510 (ค.ศ.1967)  ณ กรุงเทพฯ  เป็นองค์กรความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาค โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือและความมั่นคงทางการเมือง   การเจริญเติบโตทางการค้าและทางเศรษฐกิจ รวมทั้ง  การพัฒนาทางสังคมของประเทศสมาชิก เพื่อภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

โดยเริ่มแรกอาเซียนประกอบด้วย อินโดนีเซีย,  มาเลเซีย, ฟิลิปปินส์,  สิงคโปร์และไทย จากนั้นบรูไนเข้ามาสมทบวันที่7 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2527 ต่อมาเวียดนามได้เข้าเป็นสมาชิกในปี พ.ศ. 2538 ลาวและพม่าในปี พ.ศ. 2540 และกัมพูชา ปี พ.ศ. 2542

           The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

             Brunei Darussalam then joined on 7 January 1984, Vietnam on 28 July 1995, Lao PDR and Myanmar on 23 July 1997, and Cambodia on 30 April 1999, making up what is today the ten Member States of ASEAN

ASEAN Flag and Logo

ธงและตราสัญลักษณ์อาเซียน

      The ASEAN Flag represents a stable, peaceful, united and dynamic ASEAN.

        (ธงอาเซียน  คือ  สิ่งที่แสดงถึงความมั่นคง สันติภาพ ความเป็นเอกภาพ และความก้าวหน้าของอาเซียน)

   The colors of the flag- blue, red, white and yellow represent the main colors of the flags of all the ASEAN Member States.

     (ที่มาของสี 4 สีที่ปรากฏอยู่บนธง  คือ สีน้ำเงิน สีแดง สีขาวและสีเหลืองแทนสีบนธงชาติของรัฐสมาชิกของอาเซียน

The blue represents peace and stability. Red depicts courage and dynamism. White shows purity and yellow symbolises prosperity.

(สีน้ำเงิน หมายถึงสันติภาพและเสถียรภาพ สีแดงคือความกล้าหาญและความก้าวหน้า  สีขาวคือ ความบริสุทธ์ และสีเหลืองหมายถึงความเจรญรุ่งเรือง)

The stalks of paddy represent the dream of ASEAN Founding Fathers for an ASEAN comprising all the countries of Southeast Asia bound together in friendship and solidarity. 

(สิ่งที่ ปรากฏอยู่กลางธงของอาเซียน คือ  รวงข้าวสีเหลืองทั้ง 10 มัดรวมกันไว้  หมายถึง   ประเทศสมาชิกทั้ง10 ประเทศรวมกันเพื่อมิตรภาพและความเป็นน้ำหนึ่งใจเดียว สมดังเจตนารมณ์ของการก่อตั้ง)

      The circle represents the unity of ASEAN.

ทุกคนรู้ไหมค่ะว่า ?? เพลงนี้คนไทยเป็นคนแต่งขึ้นชนะการประกวด จากผลงานที่ส่งเข้าประกวดทั้งหมด 99 เพลง โดยที่ประชุมมีมติเป็นเอกฉันท์เลือกเพลง  "The ASEAN Way"  ( ดิอาเซียนเวย์ ) ของประเทศไทย
                     ซึ่งประพันธ์โดยกิตติคุณ สดประเสริฐ

(ทำนองและเรียบเรียง) สำเภา ไตรอุดม

                          (ทำนอง) และ พะยอม วลัยพัชรา

                          (เนื้อร้อง)ให้เป็นเพลงประจำอาเซียน
